About Us

Our Mission:
Our Mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Our Mission compels us to embrace, reflect and celebrate the richness of diversity within each other and the many communities we serve. In that Christian principles are caring and inclusive, we are respectful of various expressions of faith and serve families and individuals from all traditions, backgrounds and perspectives. Together, we work to ensure that everyone, has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity at our YMCA.

Mayfield Graves County YMCA History:
In 1844, George Williams invited a group of friends to meet regularly as a Christian alternative to the hardships and temptations associated with the Industrial Revolution. Soon, these gatherings evolved into a “missional community” addressing the basic needs of the human condition – spirit, mind, and body. Little did Williams know his new terminology would serve as the centerpiece for the vision and purpose of the Young Men’s Christian Association.

Mayfield and Graves County were fortunate enough to have community members who were dedicated to the health and wellness of our area’s residents and thus begin the process of getting the YMCA to us. Though we appreciate our roots of beginning in the “blue building,” in 1999 the Y moved to its current location at 1545 Cuba Road in Mayfield. We have seen many changes in our building, our members, our equipment, and programs but we are very fortunate that our little Y has stayed independent and here for everyone that needs us in Western Kentucky!

We have a great selection of cardio equipment, free weights, and weight machines. We also have cardio classes offered Monday through Sunday throughout the day and evening and you can also take a dip in our heated indoor pool!
